MCA-Nepal conducted cadastral verification surveys of lands under the transmission line routes in seven districts from 31 January to 24 March 2023.
The locations for the survey were Dhading, Makawanpur, Tanahun, Palpa, Chitwan, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) and Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) districts. The surveys are a part of preliminary actions to acquire land to construct a 400 kV double circuit transmission line and are carried out after the issuance of notices as per Clause 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1977. The verification works in Palpa district, Dhading district and Makwanpur district are ongoing.

After the completion of cadastral field verification by Government of Nepal (GoN) surveyors, MCA-Nepal will prepare a preliminary report as per Clause 8 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1977. After submitting the reports to respective Chief District Officers and the identification of project-affected people, household surveys will be initiated as a part of the resettlement action plan.

As per the preliminary action of Clause 8 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1977, such surveys should be completed within fifteen days after notices are issued to determine whether the land is suitable for acquisition before a report is submitted to the local office.
