Kathmandu, April 6, 2022. MCA-Nepal has commenced a Livelihood Restoration Program (LRP) for the affected people from the construction site of the sub-station at Ratmate of Belkotgadhi Municipality in Nuwakot district.
Support Activities for Poor Producer of Nepal (SAPPROS Nepal), MCA-Nepal Consultant for the program, incepted the implementation of the program organizing a two day workshop from April 5, 2022 to April 6, 2022 focusing on the overall framework as well as the implementation and management plan
of the program.
The Ratmate Sub-station, to be constructed with the MCC grant, is an important segment of the Electricity Transmission Project of MCA-Nepal. The project is currently under preparatory phase.
MCA-Nepal has developed a Rehabilitation Action Plan based on international standards with an objective to ensure improved means of livelihood for physically displaced people from the sub-station construction site. The newly incepted program is an integral segment of the Rehabilitation Action Plan.
235 affected local people will benefit through various interventions, including agriculture production growth, livelihood skills, financial literacy and life-skill related trainings.
